SUMMERTIME 2010

“May you be born in interesting times”. We’re here! It is pretty obvious that our values have changed dramatically in the last twenty years. Our role in society has also changed, and a great many of us are living, now, quietly, in the new life.

Even our perspectives on the cycles of nature have changed. In the springtime, the element of wood, your liver is busy developing plans and goals. This is the prime time for your gall bladder to make good judgments regarding who and what you will commit your energies to.

Now we align to the bounty of summertime, the Read the rest of this entry »

Emotional Quotient

Most of us, at this time in our history, are only utilizing the physical

and mental levels of our seven-dimensional bodies. Intelligence quotient (IQ) has traditionally been the benchmark for how intelligent we are. The new frontier of learning is to live fully in our emotional dimension. Most of the time we intellectualize our feelings instead of actually feeling them. All that does is get more knots in our rope.

The anatomy and physiology of our subtle bodies and our spirit are

similar from person to person, predictable. The energy of our spirit is most like the energy of our emotions—not at all like the energy of our thoughts, attitudes or beliefs. It’s just that spiritual energy is lighter and emotional energy is heavier. Both types of energy are pervasive. They fill all of the space. You can walk into a room and know if someone hates you. You can even feel it from across the street. You can also feel it when someone really loves you.

Because spiritual and emotional energies are similar, the way to get in touch with the wisdom and clarity of your spirit is learning to feel all of your feelings. If someone angers you, or disappoints you, you want to mentally come to full stop; and then feel the anger or feel the disappointment. Feeling your feelings brings you back to the present moment. Then how you respond is brilliant.

Feeling your feelings takes you out of the tired old ways most of us

have responded. When you stop, feel the feelings, and then respond you do not drag behind you the heavy chain of all the people who have ever angered or disappointed you.

By contrast, the more you talk or think about (mental level) your

feelings, the heavier the chain is that you are dragging around. You are stuck in the loop of “your story”. The more you talk about your feelings or think about them, the more links (of past stories similar to this one) you are adding to the chain you are dragging. Life’s a drag… Nothing really changes until you feel the feelings.

Essentially, you are in denial. Thinking your feelings does nothing to

resolve those feelings. Thinking about your feelings stops their motion,

causes them to build up in certain areas of your body. Feelings you do not feel build up intense pressures in your body that are interpreted as pain.

On a one to ten pain scale, with one being a slight nuisance and ten

being unbearable pain, physical pain rarely exceeds a level of five. The pain that builds from level six or beyond is predictably emotional pressure. Avoiding your feelings is never a viable option. When you do not feel the feelings, the resulting pressure blows out into one or more areas of your body that display weakness. That reads “PAIN”.

As we begin to flesh out our emotional dimension, old intractable

problems can finally resolve. For example, when you become aware that you are worried about the economy or feeling stuck, stop and feel those feelings. Use your mind to probe into all of the things you are worried about or places where you feel stuck and release them (by feeling them). Question yourself about the ways your life has not turned out the way you wanted it to. Once

you have released the negative feelings, you are free to reflect upon what you want.

Those of you who watched the video “The Secret” may believe that you want to only think about “feeling the joy of your dream as if it were already happening”. The problem with The Secret is that it only told half of the truth, which is the classic definition of a lie. If you have a desire about something and you also have a fear about it, the fear usually wins out.

The solution is to come to a full stop when a fear, worry, anxiety or

any other fear-based feeling comes up. Then feel as much of the component of that fear or conglomeration of fears as you can. Really dig into all of the related fears in that area of your life, feeling and releasing them as you go. When a fear comes up, it is usually only the tip of the iceberg. Fears come in groups, so dig for them. Then, once you have felt the feelings, they are released. They are gone. Then you are free to imagine the your world of your desires.

So, the crux of this article is: first feel any feeling you are aware of,

and then respond. When you do, you will notice that the way you respond afterward is brilliant.

Health Insurance

There is a great debate going on this summer about the direction of health insurance. We Americans pay the most money per capita for one of the worst health care systems in the world, lower than all the industrialized countries and some third world countries. We spend 85% of our health care dollars heroically keeping people alive for the last one and a half years of their life. The insurance companies skim off 35% of all health care dollars, while denying us “health care”. They only pay for a diagnosable illness. The insurance companies like the system just the way it is.

So, we have drifted into an upside-down “death care system”. It is inneficient and quite unethical. An ethical system, if we insist upon it, pays for preventative and wellness care. Waiting until it breaks down is terribly expensive, same as it would be for your car.

Medical doctors should be paid bonuses for bringing their patient’s blood panels up to healthy levels. Hospitals have the facilities where disabled patients could go to exercise, learn how to eat healthy and have routine stress testing. The emphasis, and financial bonuses, should be targeted toward becoming healthier instead of waiting until there is a breakdown.

Orthopedists, Chiropractors and Physical Therapists should be paid well when they realign the primary curves of the spine and teach people to never limp, to have good posture. Postural x-rays easily confirm the results.

All of the professions should be responsible for tested results, and their pay should mirror their success. The dental profession has done this on their own. The word “doctor” means teacher.
